Gorilla Glue #1 is high on the list of must grows! If you have never grown this amazing strain then you are in for a real treat. Gorilla Glue in the early stages is very easy to train and top making it one of my favorites to grow. The way that this strain grows allows for decent bud spacing, this works great for scrogging. Growing in soil is quite easy and large branches can be tied up to your tent frame to help hold up huge buds late in the flowering stage.

Sometimes called “Gorilla Glue #1” this well known strain it certainly stands up to its name. High THC levels make this a Indica dominant hybrid (60% Indica/40% sativa) strain. After crossing the classic Chocolate Diesel with Sour Diesel strains you get the powerful Gorilla Glue strain.
Tips For Growing Gorilla Glue #1
Growing in DWC
The overall growing experience with this strain is a 10/10. I have now grown this strain 2 – 3 times and once from clones that I have taken from feminized seeds. Every time this strain produced a potent high THC tasty flower. The method of growing that I use is Deep Water Culture which is a combination of a bucket, air stone, air pump and airline tubing. This method allows for faster plant growth and less time watering then growing traditionally with soil.
The seedling stage lasts 2 to 3 weeks, growing to around 2 to 3 inches in height. At this time you will notice 2 – 3 sets of leaves on your small seedling. Now that is entering the early stages of veg we can start giving it nutrients to help it grow. Make sure to give a weaker dose to see how the strain is reacting to the nutrients that you have chosen. If all goes well growth will increase rapidly and after another week or 2 you can start giving nutrients for a plant in late veg. Usually the end of the first month you can start the increase.
While the plant is growing in the veg stage it is the best time to start training the plant. Do this by bending and tying branches down to allow max light pentation and to spread out the canopy to keep a more even height. This is great for air flow which will help lower humidity in the flowering stages.
Once you have grown and trained your plant it is time to start the flowering process by switching the light timers to 12 hours on and 12 hours off. It can take up to 8 to 11 weeks to fully flower. Remember what each seed company says about the flowering time is just a rough idea, always check the trichomes of the plant with a jewelers loupe or some sort of magnifying attachment for your phone.
Best Nutrients for Gorilla Glue
Some popular nutrients people use when growing are Advanced Nutrients, Flora Nova and Remo. Keep in mind that are are other brands that can do just as well as long as they have close to the same amount nutrients and minerals levels. I personally use the Flora Nova Series since it also adjusts the PH levels of the water to the correct levels so you do not need to use PH up or down solutions.
While in the veg stage PPM levels of 500 – 1200 can be ideal for this strain. Adjust accordingly based on any noticeable nutrient problems. In flowering stage PPM levels of the Flora Nova Bloom of 1000 – 1350 again depending on plant size and type of system these levels can change.
