The Spider Farmer SF-1000 is the first of its generation and this LED grow light only consumes 100w, running 50% less power than the other 1500 QB lights! If you are new to LED Grow lights then if there is one thing you should know is that Samsung diodes and mean well drivers are the best right now, top of the line.
Due to extremely low energy consumption and the ability to output greater yields almost all growers are making the switch to LED grow lights. With HPS or any blub based light for that matter you will need to replace the blub as it dies out and produces less light.

This is one of the main things that you need to be looking at when buying a LED grow light. If you want nice trichomes and dense buds during the flower stage then I highly recommend these diodes! I currently have these diodes on a few different lights and they are all still working with no blown diodes. You really do get what you pay for these days.
Spider Farmer SF-1000 Hanging Height
During each stage of growth your plants will require a different amount of lumens. Seedlings and clones require a lot less in the early stages but for the vegetative stage and flowering stage you will want the following:
- Germination 20 – 40% and hang at approx. 30 inch above the canopy
- Seedling 40 – 60% at about 30 inch above canopy
- Vegetative 60 – 90% at approx. 24 inch above canopy
- Flower Stage 90 – 100% at approx. 18 inch above canopy
These are the heights that I like to hang my lights at along with the dimmer settings. When you first set up the light you will notice it comes with 2 rope hangers allowing you to easily hang the light. Simply connect the 4 silver clips one in each corner and then 2 per each rope hanger.

This is a great entry level light so as expected the coverage area is on the smaller size of about 2×2 and I would recommend this light for 1 medium sized plant. If you let the plant get to large it will be outside the main coverage area. Buds located out side the main coverage area will not be as dense or frosty as the ones under the main light coverage area.
